Stanford Energy Corporate Affiliates (SECA) is an industrial affiliate program of the Precourt Institute for Energy – serving as the portal to a broad network of Stanford energy experts from various science, technology, behavioral, and policy disciplines.

With an emphasis on private sector interaction, SECA promotes excellence in energy research, education, and policy, providing sustained academic-industry engagement.  Our affiliate members liaise with numerous organizations across Stanford, both energy- and non-energy related.

Our objective is to support energy-related research with the following goals:

  • Share knowledge and resources to create solutions to advance energy technology,
  • Engage industry in flexible ways,
  • Create more opportunities for students and faculty to work with industry, and
  • Accelerate the pace of innovation and scale-up of advanced energy technologies.

Research areas are broadly defined and can be customized by member companies' desire to specify focus areas.

The program's faculty director is Yi Cui, director of the Precourt Institute for Energy, and its parent School is the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
